Powering Growth. Sustaining Life.
FuelTree is transforming how Africa cooks, eats, and grows. Through our flagship project, the Virtual Cylinder Recirculation Model (vCRM), we make clean cooking fuel as easy to buy as airtime, through AI and block chain and access carbon credits for the gas value chain.
About Us
FuelTree is redefining clean energy access across Africa through innovation that connects households, businesses, and governments. Built on the legacy of pioneering organisations Climate Credit Network Africa, Green Energy Biofuels, and CSR-in-Action — FuelTree merges over a decade of expertise in climate finance, sustainability, and digital energy systems.
With a mission to power growth and sustain life, FuelTree is driving inclusive energy transition enabling cleaner air, stronger livelihoods, and measurable climate impact across Nigeria and beyond.
The Challenge
Over 70 percent of Nigerians still cook with firewood, charcoal, or kerosene.
This dependence fuels deforestation, household air pollution, and lost productivity costing billions in health, climate, and economic damage each year. The LPG market remains fragmented and underfinanced, with limited last-mile access and no standardised digital distribution system. FuelTree exists to solve this.
The Virtual Cylinder Recirculation Model (vCRM)
Digitising Energy. Democratising Access. Monetising Impact.
FuelTree’s vCRM virtualises LPG cylinder ownership, allowing households to subscribe digitally instead of paying large upfront costs. Cylinders are tokenised into a national asset pool, creating a structured, traceable, and credit-friendly clean energy ecosystem.
Through our vCRM app, users can:
Purchase cooking gas and food digitally.
Access clean fuel through verified last-mile partners.
Generate real-time data for carbon credit verification under Verra and Gold Standard methodologies
Our Broader Impact & Solutions
Carbon Finance Integration
FuelTree links clean cooking adoption to certified carbon credits under Verra and Gold Standard, turning every refill into measurable climate value for governments and investors.
Smart Energy Distribution
Our vCRM app connects households, vendors, and depots in real time—removing inefficiencies, reducing fraud, and ensuring transparent fuel access across Nigeria’s cities and communities.
Digital Inclusion & Access
We make LPG affordable and easy to purchase digitally—like airtime or electricity—through our subscription-based virtual cylinder system that eliminates upfront costs for consumers.
Sustainable Food & Energy Linkage
FuelTree integrates food distribution within its clean energy platform, providing families with access to both essential cooking fuel and nutritious food through one connected ecosystem.
Vendor Empowerment
By formalising last-mile distribution, we equip 50,000+ small vendors with technology, financing, and guaranteed customers—creating dignified work and sustainable business opportunities.
Data & Climate Intelligence
FuelTree’s Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) tools provide real-time data on fuel use, emissions reduction, and credit generation—empowering decision-makers with transparency and traceability.
Clean Energy & Climate Transformation
Through partnerships with governments, development agencies, and private investors, FuelTree is transforming clean cooking into a scalable climate finance mechanism.
We align with national energy goals and the Renewed Hope Agenda, delivering measurable progress across the SDGs.
Key Outcomes
Affordable energy access for 5M+ households by 2030.
10M tonnes CO₂e reduced by 2035.
Verified carbon credits reinvested in clean energy expansion.
New green jobs across logistics, tech, and energy sectors.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is FuelTree?
FuelTree is a clean-energy and carbon-finance company helping Africa transition from high-emission fuels to cleaner, more affordable energy and food systems. Through innovation and partnerships, we make it possible for households, businesses, and governments to benefit from the emerging carbon market economy.
What is the vCRM?
The Virtual Cylinder Recirculation Model (vCRM) is FuelTree’s digital platform that connects households, gas marketers, and financiers. It tracks LPG cylinders and other clean-cooking devices — and links them with food-distribution programmes — creating a transparent system that records energy and food access while generating verifiable carbon credits.
Why is this important now?
FuelTree’s mission aligns directly with Africa’s key government policies — the Decade of Gas Initiative, the Energy Transition Plan (ETP), Clean Cooking Alliance and Project FUKU, to name a few, which aim to make clean cooking gas accessible to every home.
With the recent approval of the National Carbon Market Framework under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement for many countries, states and private investors can now earn verified carbon credits for these initiatives.
The vCRM provides the digital and financial backbone that ties all of this together — making it easy to track results, verify impact, and unlock climate finance from clean cooking, food security, and other green activities.
How does the vCRM work?
- Households receive affordable LPG cylinders (3 kg – 12.5 kg) (in the future, bundled with food or household-support packages).
- Each cylinder is digitally tagged and tracked through the vCRM app.
- Every refill or delivery records carbon savings and food-distribution data.
- These verified savings are converted into carbon credits, which FuelTree helps trade on recognised international markets.
What benefits does the vCRM bring?
- Households: Access to cleaner energy, better health and nutritious food at lower cost.
- States & Communities: Jobs, better air quality, and new local revenues.
- Businesses: Verified ESG impact, new customer data, and access to carbon-credit revenue.
- Country: Foreign-exchange inflows, improved energy access, and measurable progress toward national clean-cooking and food-security goals.
Who can partner with FuelTree?
- Governments – to roll out state or regional clean-cooking and food-security programmes.
- Private-sector organisations – to sponsor cylinders or food baskets, or integrate ESG and CSR goals.
- Oil & Gas and Energy Companies – to expand LPG distribution while meeting climate-reporting obligations.
- DFIs, Impact Funds & Carbon Investors – to finance large-scale, high-integrity carbon projects.
- NGOs & Community Groups – to support local implementation and outreach.
How is FuelTree verified?
All vCRM projects use international carbon standards such as Verra and Gold Standard.
Our Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) process is AI-enabled and blockchain-secured to ensure complete transparency.
What scale is FuelTree targeting?
FuelTree aims to reach 5 – 10 million households within five years, generating up to 25 million tCO₂e reductions annually and unlocking billions in carbon-credit and clean-energy revenues.
What opportunities exist for partnership and recognition?
FuelTree offers multiple entry points for both public and private sponsors — from local pilot projects to large-scale climate-finance partnerships. Partners benefit through climate credits, climate finance, brand visibility, verified ESG impact, operational data, and participation in international climate showcases such as COP 30 in Brazil and other global or regional sustainability events, to name a few.
The vCRM also advances the objectives of integrating clean cooking, food access, and poverty reduction for measurable social and environmental impact.
Our Partners
FuelTree collaborates with visionary partners that share our belief in sustainable energy access, including CSR-in-Action, Green Energy Biofuels, Climate Credit Network Africa, and international carbon finance institutions.
